Facing tropane alkaloid contamination in millet

چکیده
Thorn Apple or Jimson Weed (Datura stramonium) is a tropane alkaloid containing widespread pest plant growing in central Europe. This predominantly occurs millet, buckwheat and maize cultivation. Therefore, sound cleaning of these crops just as pivotal reliable analytics. The millet at laboratory scale with commercial mechanical devices, such sieves, indented separators table sorters without using colour sorters, reduces the dark coloured Datura seed content by up to 99%. Nevertheless, few remaining seeds (up one nut per 30 kg) could lead an exceedance European Union (EU) limit values for alkaloids baby food. However, material other than even invisible abrasion can contaminate during harvest, handling, processes crop transportation. Contamination originating from adhesive dust be removed dehulling kernels, reduction below EU detection achieved.

Ipvelutine, 7β-Acetoxy-2α-(tigloyloxy)tropane, an Unusual Tropane Alkaloid from Ipomoea velutina R. Br. (Convolvulaceae)
Convolvulaceae provide a rich source of tropane alkaloids, however, 2-substituted tropanes have been described for only few species of this taxon. In this note, 2,7-diesters such as ipvelutine [7β-acetoxy-2α-(tigloyloxy)tropane] isolated from the vegetative parts of the Australian Ipomoea velutina R. BR. are described as a new group of tropane diesters.
متن کاملTropane and Granatane Alkaloid Biosynthesis: A Systematic Analysis.
The tropane and granatane alkaloids belong to the larger pyrroline and piperidine classes of plant alkaloids, respectively. Their core structures share common moieties and their scattered distribution among angiosperms suggest that their biosynthesis may share common ancestry in some orders, while they may be independently derived in others. Tropane and granatane alkaloid diversity arises from ...
متن کاملInduction of tropane alkaloid formation in transformed root cultures of Brugmansia suaveolens (Solanaceae).
Hairy root cultures of Brugmansia suaveolens were set up by infection of root tips with Agrobacterium rhizogenes. The successful transformation was confirmed by analysing rolC and virC genes using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Hairy root cultures were employed to study the formation of tropane alkaloids, such as hyoscyamine. The transformed cultures were incubated with potential elicitors, s...
متن کاملComparison of tropane alkaloid spectra between Datura innoxia grown in Egypt and Bulgaria.
The alkaloid spectra of Datura innoxia plants grown in Egypt and Bulgaria were investigated by GC-MS. Thirty-eight alkaloids were detected in the roots, leaves and fruits of the plants. Five new alkaloids for D. innoxia are reported. Alkaloid spectra of Egyptian and Bulgarian plants differ significantly in respect to their alkaloid composition and main alkaloids accumulated in the plant organs.
